Occupational Therapy Services

What is Paediatric Occupational Therapy?

An area of Occupational Therapy that supports infants, children and teenagers in everyday activities, like playing, learning, self-care and social participation.

The goal of OT is to help children become as independent, confident and content as
possible in their daily lives at home, school and in the community.

A Paediatric Occupational Therapist can help children with:

 Fine Motor Skills (drawing, writing, using scissors, buttoning)

 Gross Motor Skills (running, climbing, kicking a ball)

 Hand eye coordination (catching a ball, building blocks)

 Self Care skills (dressing, feeding, brushing teeth)

 Executive Functioning Skills

 Regulation and Sensory Processing Skills (knowing your nervous system and how to
help you regulate)

The OT will always think about the activity the child needs or want to do, the environment and all the people within it. We work with the whole family and everyone else that is involved (e.g. schools, creches, afterschool clubs) We can help and adjust the environment to better support the child and help all the people involved to better understand the child and how to support them.

OT Club:

A fun and playful club where children can develop gross and fine motor skills, sensory and emotional regulation, build confidence and make friends. Smaller group sizes will ensure every child will get the attention they deserve.
